My name is Claire Hughes and I am the artist behind Droplets of Love Nursery.
I am a stay at home mum and I live in Rayleigh, Essex, which is in England. I have been happily married to my husband Steven for 17 years and we have three wonderful children together. Jack is 17, Charlotte is 15 and our baby Stevie is 7.
I fell in love with reborn babies when I first saw them on eBay back in 2003. I knew I had to try this art for myself and set out to find out as much information as I could! I am lucky that I have the full support of my husband Steven who has encouraged and helped me along the way. I would also like to thank my wonderful mum! Who is always around when I need her :-)
I soon joined the online classes, Simply Reborn. The lessons were really helpful and the members made me feel welcome and gave me all the encouragement and help I needed)
My very first reborn was called Rosie. She was reborn from a Berenguer Rosebud doll, and although not perfect, she was my very own creation and I love her. To this day I still have her laying in a crib in my doll room. I could never let her go and she reminds everyday how lucky I am to be doing something I love so much.

There have been a lot of changes in Reborning since I started. From painting with ink pads and oils, through to the more advanced techniques you see on today’s babies using Genesis paints. This is what keeps Reborning so exciting for an artist! It is forever evolving and everyone is striving for the ‘perfect’ baby.
One of my first achievements was to become the First UK Certified Teachers for the Secrist Doll Company. I held a Live class at the very first Discover Dolls show back in 2007. I was lucky enough to work with Pat Secrist himself!
I ran my own company called 'Everything Reborn', selling Secrist Doll kits and many other reborn supplies through my website and ebay, still continuing to make my precious babies x
The next move in my reborn career, was being invited to Tutor on the online classes. I was overjoyed at being asked and jumped straight in! Being able to share what knowledge I have gained since I started reborning with others is great. I love to see how other artist's grow and gain confidence in what they are trying to achieve.
I have also written many Tutorials for the UK's Premier doll magazine, Discover Dolls.
I regularly attend doll shows, if not exhibiting, then I go to meet up with the many friends I have made over the last seven years. We always have such a great time and I love to take one of my babies along to show of my work.
I am lucky enough to have travelled to the US and Germany, as well as around the UK, to attend shows and to teach this wonderful art in the Live Classes. The Live classes I run are held through out the year in the UK. The classes are tailored to your needs and can be as long or as short as you need :-)
In May 2008 I opened Simply Reborn Limited along with my business partner. It was one of the only companies in the UK to produce its own kits. The range of Doll Kits were called the ‘Ruby Hues’. I was fortunate enough to work with some of the most famous artists in the industry as well as promote the new sculptor’s, both here in the UK and the rest of the world. Along with Ruby Hues doll kits, we stocked reborn supplies and other independent artist kits.
Due to health reason's, I resigned as Managing Director of Simply Reborn Ltd. However, I continued to make these beautiful babies and attend several doll show's through out the year.
Now my health has improved, I have decided to re-open my 'old' comapny Everything Reborn Ltd :-)
